Please note: Weighted items are a therapeutic tool, and we always recommend using them in consultation with your therapist. They can play a valuable role as part of your sensory diet. Keep in mind, that as a general rule of thumb, it is recommended that weighted items be no more than 10% of body weight and used in blocks of time, usually up to 20 minute intervals (unless under advice from a suitably qualified professional).

Caring for your weighted items:

Do:

- use while seated or stationery

- carry with both hands

- surface clean with a damp sponge

- restitch seams in places (if the weight strains the seams) using top stitch  

Avoid:

- using while walking or moving around

- carrying in a way that places undue stress on seams

- dropping or rough handling
